This series of larger oil works on canvas originally for an exhibition in a gallery in Little Italy, London, and here shown in an exhibition at Little Dartmouth in Devon! The exhibition was called Flow and these works were all about flow - waves coming in and out and flowing earthwards in a deluge.
The colours are of ochres and siennas, palest sugar almond pink and deep dark raven blacks.
These paintings explore the dynamic movement of wave and rain along with diffuse interactions with rock and the bloom of algae. When you snorkel in the sea you often come across motes of microscopic organisms - both tiny plants and animals (some luminescing) floating in the water in drifts and clouds of light catching flecks. It is beautiful though many are a bit freaked out by algal blooms.
