This series of small works on panel began to come together in 2025 though they were begun years before. It was only in 2025 that they began to ‘sing’ as they decided they wanted to be in homage to clouds. I keep coming back to clouds. The way they cast magic and humble drama about the sky and yet are so easily overlooked.

Though I have put the date as 2025, they began many years before this and then they had their finishing touches in 2026 - this year as I write. i don’t know how many years these small paintings have taken. It doesn’t matter, but what matters is that they took their time as clouds do and obey no forecasters musing!

Of course, being clouds they would be float mounted so they appear to float off the walls and be left unframed to show off their wonderfully earthy raw edges.

The palette has taken the cherry blossom within a few pf the works and made it sing throughout within the clouds. This pale pink for me speaks of well being and nurture.
